The Platinum Arena sports complex was designed and built specifically for large competitions, concerts, festivals, matches of the Russian ice hockey championship, and games of the Russian volleyball championship. This was the first venue of a kind in Khabarovsk to host large-scale events.
The complex accommodates up to 8,500 spectators and is also the venue for home matches of the Amur Tigers Club playing in the Youth Hockey League and Amur Club playing in the Kontinental Hockey League.
The Platinum Arena was designed by designers from Korea, and we were contracted to review and optimize the design solutions. We added arch covering to the design, which not only fit the overall objective, but also acted as additional decoration. But the main thing is that arch covering reduced the total weight of the steel framework by 816 tons.
The Platinum Arena was awarded by the Chamber of Commerce of the Russian Federation as The Best Sports Building 2003 in a nation-wide competition held by the Russia Sports Industry National Forum.
